Welcome to the Trucking Tutorial! Just follow these steps and tricks listed for this job.
Map: Go to one of the white Cargo Crates on the map named Trucking Simulator
Page 1: Walk into the marker and hit E. You will be welcomed with the menus below. I will be going through each screen an explaining what they are and how they operate, and how you can operate your trucking business.
So the image above is your company stats, they are pretty much self-explanatory.
Page 2: Quick Deliveries
Quick Deliveries is where you start, since you do not have a Skill point towards anything yet, you must take a delivery that has no special permits associated with it, and you cannot make a delivery that is longer than 5KM, so it must be without special permits and under 5KM. We will explain this more when we get to skill points
Page 3: Freight
Freight is limited only to people who owns trucks, so before you can take any of these loads purchase a truck on the Dealership Page.
Page 4: Skills
Each Skill lets you progress and adds to the wide variety of loads you can choose from. Starting out you cannot choose most loads, because you lack the skills to do them. Keep an eye on Page 1 with your skills and when you unlock a skill point to spend, come to this screen and choose which skill you want to use. Click on the “Description” button below each skill to review each one as shown below.
Page 5: Vehicle Maintenance and Diagnostics
This Disagnostic screen shows you the current truck that you are in, to select the truck you wish to repair or be in, simply select it in your Truck (Fleet) menu. In this menu you get to see the status of your truck and if its in need of repairs, you can click on each item to fix your truck.
Page 6: Dealership
This is where you can purchase a truck for your fleet. NOTE: When you purchase a truck here, it DOES NOT get added to your regular garage for you to take out… you must use THIS SYSTEM in order to spawn your truck.
Once you’ve purchased your truck, you can head to the next page and view it. NOTE: The first truck you buy is YOUR TRUCK! If you wish to hire a driver, you must buy a SECOND truck for your hired driver.
Page 7: Trucks (Fleet)
This is where you can view all your trucks and their status. To repair a truck make sure you select it before you head to the Disagnostics page.
This is also where you Spawn your truck BEFORE you select a load from your FREIGHT menu.
Page 8: Recruitment Agency
Simple enough, this is where you hire drivers and see their skills, and how much they cost. Once hired you can manage them on the next page, Drivers.
Page 9: Drivers
Here is where you manage your drivers. in order for them to start making you money, you must have a truck for them and place them into that truck. All their stats are displayed here as well. To see if they are making you money, simply check out Page 1 and or the next Page “BANK” to see how your company account is doing.
Page 10: BANK
The Bank, this is where you can manage your company account. At the bottom left you will see exactly how much is in your account at that time. At the top you have the option to take out loans and what the payment requirements are. At the bottom right is where you deposit money from your personal bank account, into the company account and then will display at the bottom left. To take the money out of the company account simply click on it.
To exit out of this menu, simply click the X at the bottom left.
And that’s about it! Be sure to do clean runs to maximize your efforts in making money!
NOTE: If you destroy your trailer you lose that run. Return to the Depot then hold F6 to cancel that run before you can take another. When you push F6 this deleted your Truck/Trailer at the time and leaves you there, so be sure to return to the depot before you do this. If you happen to destroy your truck just hit F6 and call for a /taxi. If your truck is not destroyed and just smoking black but cannot drive it, if you are next to a road, type /mechanic, and an AI Mechanic will come to fix your truck for free.
Pro Tip: For your Deliveries, you MUST back up into the delivery point on all drop-offs, and your trailer must be straight behind your truck or the delivery point will not turn green. Back up until the marker turns green.
After you are done your delievery, return to any Truck Simulator Depot you wish. Once there you can either park your truck outside and go choose another load, or store your truck and make repairs or move on to something else.
